Langkawi Island and Malindo Air

Never been on the ATR-72 aircraft before. Firefly Airlines and Malindo Air fly the ATR72 from Subang Skypark to various destinations. We selected Langkawi Island as the destination this time. Travel date 4 Jan 2014.

Above the clouds. 15000ft cruising altitude.

Not a full flight today. 

Passing Penang Island, Bayan Lepas International airport runway strip can be seen below the clouds.

Approaching Langkawi. 

Landed in Langkawi International airport. 1130hrs.

Enjoyed the 60 mins flight on this ATR 72 turboprop aircraft.

Rental car for the day. Brand new Nissan Almera. 

First stop, lunch at Tanjung Rhu Langkawi. Scarborough Fish and Chips. 

A nice fish n chips restaurant by the beach.

Lunch.

Next stop, Galeria Perdana for a tour of the ex-Malaysian Premier's gifts and souvenirs collection.

Besides the collection of gifts and souvenirs, the beautiful ceiling and roof architecture of this galeria deserves to be appreciated.

Final stop for the day is Pantai Tengah Langkawi, to enjoy the beach, sand and evening sun. 

This was actually another day trip holiday, so by 1800hrs we were already back at Langkawi International airport. Below is our flight for KUL which has just arrived LGK.

Our flight home is on Malindo Air's B737-900 jet. Nice shiny and glossy paintwork under the evening Langkawi sun. 

A full flight on the return journey. A lot of tourist are returning home too from Langkawi.

Landed at KLIA at 2030hrs. A quick and exciting daytrip to Langkawi Island on

Malindo Air.
